Since Crafthub started, members have worked to develop unique designs and products for local artisans to produce. We have marketed these at the Crafthub stall at each Rainforest World Crafts Bazaar, and also through a small number of selected retail outlets.

Our work so far has concentrated on jewellery, and more recently also on bags.

Cotton bags

In 2009 Crafthub's Annette Bessant came up with several designs for making reversible cotton bags which are practical and useful as well as being both attractive and original. The bags are made by a local tailor here in Kuching.

These bags proved very popular at the 2010 Rainforest World Crafts Bazaar and we are continuing to produce them.

Jewellery

Crafthub’s jewellery group, which meets frequently to plan new designs, have since inception developed many items of jewellery, often using the midin motif made by local potter and ceramic artist Nabila Abdullah. (Midin is a jungle fern native to Sarawak.)

Items such as necklaces, chokers and earrings incorporate a combination of silver beads and trimmings, quartz, glass beads and jungle seeds.

These are created by Ann Wong and De Gayantina Thamrin.
